Have you ever caught yourself spewing negative self-talk (🙋🏼‍♀️), or muttering things under your breath about people you see or interact with? We all do it.

“Oh, those shoes are hideous.”
“Nice driving, Doofus.”
“Well, that was a stupid thing to do.”

When we cast judgement onto ourselves or others, we are choosing not to love.

As you go about your routine and connect with others today, try to do so from a place of curiosity and compassion, rather than criticism and judgement.

This beautiful girl received as much love in the last 72 hours as she did in all of her 16 years combined. So grateful to have the time to say a meaningful goodbye this week, before sending her on her way today. 🐾🌈✨🥹🩷

The most heartfelt thanks to everyone who left comments, came to visit, said prayers, lit candles, held space, and sent flowers, messages and light for me, the boys, and especially Marley this week.

While they are all a little different (depending who you ask), they are each based around the concept of recording events and stories in an illustrative fashion.

While I love to doodle journal my travels and special memories, I know several illustrators who are paid to document keynote speeches, podcasts, and books—how cool is that!?

During our time together, you will learn to draw a collection of common elements for doodle journaling—like borders + bullets, faces + bodies, flora + fauna, homes + streetscapes, letters + numbers—and some simple guidelines for composing your pages to create an interesting visual story.

Follow along, ask questions + receive feedback—it will be just like sitting around my studio table!

“Can you recall a time you felt perfectly calm, still, and at ease?”

This month’s theme at CAMP is “Rest + Renew”. We’ve been chatting about ways to rest, and ways to renew our energy.

Our minds, bodies, spirits all require time of radical rest in order to function at our best. This doesn’t mean binge-watching your favourite show, or going for a hike, or chatting with your bestie on the phone for hours. It means being completely still and allowing your body to feel ease, while being conscious of thought (not asleep). Some call it meditation, others struggle to meditate. Simply, allow yourself to sit in quiet, practice deep belly breaths, and reset your mind and energy.

Feeling rattled, anxious, disconnected from your body, your breath, or nature?

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Set a timer for at least two minutes, and head outside in your bare feet. Stand in the grass, on pavement, on a wood deck, in a puddle—the closest natural element you can find—and let the earth’s healing energy fill your body, mind, and spirit from the tips of your adorable toes to the top of your pretty little noggin.
