Well, hello there…

It’s so lovely to meet you!

My name is Joanne T. Lauzon, and I am an artist + creative play coach.

It took me more than forty years to consider—and call—myself an artist.

I founded inDetail in 1992—a studio offering branding and publication design—and have worked with many amazing clients, on many amazing projects. Along the way, life happened. Children came, priorities shifted, and my world became more about doing what I love, and sharing the gifts given to me by the Universe.

For me, this meant… being an Artist.

So here I am—proud of the journey which brought me to this moment, and the lessons I have learned with each new day. Every situation in life is an opportunity to grow. That’s how I believe we can choose to enjoy every moment and create joyful, adventurous lives.

When I’m not in my studio creating or working with clients, you can find me goofing it up on social media or dancing in the kitchen to my favourite singer/songwriters. I am continually inspired by all forms of design + creativity, food + drink, adventure + fun.

Here are two local TV segments where I chat about my workshops, and the importance of creative play, and run the host through some fun creative activities.

After over 25 years as a brand + publication designer (overlapped by three years as a personal trainer + two years as an all-natural skin care maker + seller), I decided to be brave and dive into my lifelong dream of being an artist.

Early in 2015, I began sharing my artwork, starting with pointed pen calligraphy. Soon, local friends + groups began asking me to teach. After my first workshop at Carleton University’s Art Gallery, and as I shared more of my various art forms, the lesson requests rolled in steadily—pointed pen calligraphy, watercolour brush lettering, hand lettering, doodling, chalkboard art, acrylic painting, mixed media, art journaling, vision boards, intention cards… and so much more.

Workshops and weekly classes were held in my home, the homes of hosts, and public venues, making these [what I called] “creative play events” my primary line of business—and I LOVE it! Hundreds of amazing people have joined me around my table, allowing their creative spirits to shine!

Some of my favourite and most meaningful moments as a Creativity Coach come during my annual “Live Your Spirit!™” women’s creative play weekend retreat. It’s some kind of wonderful watching creativity bloom! Guests move from staring at a blank canvas, filled with fear + trepidation, to admiring their completed painting, filled with pride + joy.

Today, I am a full-time Artist + Creativity Coach. I create watercolour + acrylic collections + commissions, and I coach individuals + groups toward Joyful Living through Creative Play™—helping them tap into creativity + playfulness to live a more joyful life everyday.

How can I help you live a more joyful, creative life?
