Self worth can be affected by external influences, childhood experiences, and internal beliefs.

How can we nurture and improve our sense of self worth? Here are some strategies we can use every day:

: 10-Minute Wellness Break ✨ Confidence

Why do we struggle with confidence and what can we do to build and maintain it?

We talked about the concept of confidence being attached to outcome expectations for any action we take. Confidence is fluid and can fluctuate, and we need to show ourselves grace in lower confidence moments and seasons.

Here are five strategies we can put in place to boost confidence:

1. Take action | Move from the state of being into the state of doing.

2. Celebrate failures | We can always learn + grow from every experience.

3. Celebrate successes | Hooray! High five!

4. Keep promises to yourself | Hold yourself accountable, or find a trustworthy friend to help you stay on track and provide honest feedback.

5. Be gentle with yourself | Speak to yourself as you would a small child learning and growing—with kindness, compassion, and patience

: It’s taken me a few days to even come close to putting words to one of the most magical experiences of my life.

In November 2020, I developed + launched an online membership space for creative awakenings, mindfulness + play—CAMP. Right away 50 people joined from around the world. Others have come and gone since, though there remains a group who connects weekly on Zoom for our CAMP Picnics, and other online events.

While many are local, and we know each other in person, just as many are from away—from places like India, Ireland, Germany, and all over the US and Canada.

For well over a year, we have been saying “Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could all finally meet in person!? Hugs, laughter, great food, creative play, adventure… Oh, to dream!”

I don’t even remember when we decided to make it happen. It feels like eons ago.

Last week, 15 CAMP members enjoyed four nights together at a cottage along the St. Lawrence River in Brockville, Ontario. Many of us had never met in person. There were SO many hugs, SO many laughs, SO many tears (the good kind), SO many amazing meals, hundreds of photos taken in an attempt to capture every possible memory of this incredible experience.

We truly missed everyone who wasn’t able to join, and we are already chatting about when + where we can come together again.

I heard many times “Joe, you made this happen… You created this space for all of us,” and while that may be true on a technical level, these beautiful humans shared themselves so authentically, it is THEY who fill CAMP with their hearts, minds + spirits, and for that I am immensely grateful ✨

Do you think making deep personal connections over Zoom is impossible? We are living proof that couldn’t be further from the truth.
